Because my friend Katie doesn't think I have culinary diversity, I begin a new series called Taco To-day wherein I chronicle how often I eat tacos or taco-like meals in any given week.
I would have taken more pictures, but I didn't think about it until I was making lunch today. However, I will explain the rest of the week.
Sunday: Taco-less.
Monday: No tacos, but I had Pupusas which are Salvadorian and I put green chili on them so they're a little like Tacos... if you don't understand the difference between El Salvador and Mexico.

| Thank you to Wikipedia for having a picture. |
Tuesday: I crisped up some corn tortillas in the oven and fried some black beans I'd made a few weeks ago with onion and garlic. Then I accidentally put a bunch of nutmeg in the pan instead of chili powder. Then I put in a bunch of chili powder to try to hide the nutmeg. I put the beans on the tostadas, melted some cheese on the whole thing and topped with avocado and salsa. Flat taco. See Friday for a picture. Don't put nutmeg in your beans. I don't care if there's nutmeg in enchilada sauce or whatever, don't put nutmeg in your beans. It's weird and wrong.
Wednesday: Taco-free. Went
here with WC. One of our faves.
Thursday: See Monday, but with salsa instead of green chili.
Friday: See Tuesday. Remove the nutmeg. And you get this:

| Not bad, huh? |
And just to remind people that I am not a food blogger I will show you the browned avocado that went into this meal:
 |
| It's brown because I used the other half on Tuesday so it oxidizes and is ugly. |
The following picture shows the ratio of taco-related items to non-taco related items in my fridge. Items with a red circle could be used in a taco. Items with a blue star are probably rotten and should be tossed/composted.
That leaves the box of wine, some almond milk that is hiding behind the cows milk, iced green tea, almond butter, some pickles I made that you can't see behind the jar of beans, and some gluten-free bread...as wells a the shame of how filthy my fridge is. (There's also some expired birth control in the meat/cheese drawer [where would you put it?]). So really, my ratio is about 1:1 taco-makings to none when you remove the produce that I let go bad, my own shame and birth control.
I used to have a thing for burritos, but I'm over it. I think there was a week this summer where I had shrimp tacos at three different places. I do love some shrimp tacos this summer.
Tacos. Yum.

Thanks again to Wikipedia for having a picture of shrimp tacos
and making me want them for dinner. |
