Random Round-Up

1. Because I didn't post this on time last year, I thought I'd aim to this year. "Cinco de Drinko" is racist. Quit being ignorant, white people. If you want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, please do. But don't turn it into a white-people's reason to get drunk and be an asshole. Vegas is open 24/7 for that.

2. One of my coworkers asked me how my trip was and the conversation went a little like this:

Her: How was your trip? You went alone, right?
Me: Yeah. It was such a great time.
Her: Did you meet anyone?
Me: No. I don't really talk to strangers.
Her: Not even a hot bartender?
Me: I talked to some... to order something... like food. Or a beer.

It's not that I'm anti-social. It's just that I don't want to talk to anyone.

3. WC ran in the Spartan in Colorado yesterday. He also ran the one in Vegas in April. He's considering another one in June. He'll do the Colorado Tough Mudder in September. Apparently he likes to be muddy, hot, and subjected to torture. He pays to attend. I pay to watch.

4. It was a rough week and so in his attempts to cheer me up, I received the following email:
So, I googled the following -

Motivation for Hippies - Really bad results, so not going to send you that, for Christ's sake. That was a bigger downer than it should have been.

Then I googled - cats doing burpees - all sorts of good pictures, but I don't know how to just copy the pictures I want to send you - it will only let me do a link (that sucks).

Then finally, finally I found what I was looking for all along.

And then I felt like a failure because not only can I not knit as fast as that guy does, I can barely run while NOT knitting without tripping and almost killing myself.

5. I'm told that in order to be a world famous blogger I need more comments. So I'm going to ask you to comment ON my blog if you have something to say. I get texts and emails about blog posts, but rarely a comment. I guess these legitimize the blog and make strangers feel like others are reading and therefore they should keep reading. So help me become a world famous blogger who still hasn't told her parents, anyone at work, or WC that she has a blog.

  1. This blog made me say "Cinco de Drinko" in my head all day. You're perpetuating it.
